Machine & Treatment Operative with FLT
Continental shift pattern - Monday to Sunday, 4 days on and 4 day off, 7am - 7pm.
£9.67 per hour. A weekly shift allowance applies.
Our client is a long established wood manufacturer based in County Durham. Owing to extensive growth within production over the last decade, particularly with bespoke timber products, an opportunity has arisen for a candidate with an FLT license to join their team on a temp-to-perm basis.
You will be part of a small team responsible for the timber treatment process. The role does involve indoor and outdoor working in all weathers, within a brand new, state of the art treatment facility.
Your duties will include:
- Complete daily, monthly & other checks as directed, ensuring the plant is operating optimally
- Configure treatment batch, ensuring the classification of timber is correct within the batch
- Efficiency load timber on to track, ensuring the correct level throughout the charge
- Select correct treatment program
- Check quality of treated timber prior to removing from tracks
- Relocate treated timber in correct area for dispatch
- Unload and recharges efficiently
- Ensure timber leaving the treatment facility is packaged correctly – repackage before removal if appropriate.
- Safe and efficient production methods adhered to at all times
- Ensure that machines are running to agreed standards of speed, cleanliness and quality
- Efficient and safe production methods adhered to at all times
- Assist other operators in finding the most effective methods of working to maximise efficiency performance
- Ensure deviation/errors are accurately reported to your Lead operator.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- An in-date Reach and/or Counterbalance FLT licence
- Excellent and efficient FLT driving skills
- Computer literacy with accurate data inputting skills
Additionally, you must have strong communications and relationship skills.
