This is the ideal role for a Cleansing Operative looking to develop their career with an award-winning company.
37 Hours per week - overtime rate for all hours over 37.
As a Cleaner you will, either individually or as a member of a team, carry out general duties concerned with the Waste & Street Scene Service including on street, highway and area cleansing duties and duties around depots.
As a Cleaner, your duties will include:
- Collection of waste and transferal to collection vehicle.
- Assisting the driver in the safe manoeuvring of the vehicle
- Collection of spillage and loading onto the vehicle.
- Street cleansing
- Litter picking
- Emptying of litter and dog waste bins, refuse and recycling bins.
- Collecting fly tipped waste and disposal as required.
- Deliver/collect and site a variety of bins
- Graffiti removal
- Remove animal carcasses from highways footpaths etc.
- Delivery/collection of signage
- Scheduling of work – with regards to daily duties, route optimisation and efficient working.
- General cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
- Provide direction to community payback, community support / litter pickers and apprentices.
- On site liaison with third parties
- Report appropriate problems or defects to the Supervisors for further action.
- To work on Refuse & Recycling as and when directed.
- To demonstrate an acceptance of and commitment to the principles underlying the Council’s Equality and Diversity policy.
- Completion of all relevant documentation, to be handed in to the Supervisors as appropriate.
- Reporting as required through recognised procedures.
- Comply with the Health and Safety Policy
- Such other duties as may from time to time be allocated to the post holder consistent with the responsibilities of the post.
