An opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Cleaner to join their team Monday to Friday 5.00am – 13.30pm.
This is the ideal role for a Cleaning Operative looking to develop their career with an award-winning company.
Within this role, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness across the site.
Main Duties:
Toilets
• Clean lavatory basins with appropriate cleaner provided.
• Clean inside and outside surrounds of sinks
• Clean taps
• Refill toilet dispensers in cubicles
• Wipe tiles
• Polish Mirrors
• Wipe paintwork
• Clean an mop floors with appropriate clean and bleach where required
Offices
- Vacuum (spot clean where necessary)
- Hand Flooring – dust control sweep or vacuum, damp mop
- Furniture/desks – damp dust
- Fixtures & fittings –dust and wipe (incl. skirting, pipes, window ledges)
- Bins – empty daily and damp wipe monthly
- Clean inside and outside of sinks (lab office).
- Doors – remove marks from glass and walls
- Clean telephones
Reception area/meeting room
- Clean an mop floors with hot water only
- Hover the carpets
- Empty the bins
- Wipe and polish the reception desk
- Fixtures & fittings – dust and damp wipe (incl. skirting, table, window ledges).
Corridors/Stairs
- Hard Flooring – dust control sweep or vacuum, damp mop
- Stairs – Mop
- Fixtures & fittings – dust and damp wipe (incl. skirting, pipes, window ledges).
- Polish door handles
- Doors – remove marks from glass, doors or walls.
Canteen
• Empty recycling bins
• Remove waste food weekly from the fridge
• Empty the dishwasher
• Damp wipe the tables and all surfaces with disinfectant
• Clean and mop the floors
Factory/Warehouse
- Mop the designated walk ways
- Clean inside and outside of the Hand washing station
Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Cooperate with the employer on health and safety matters at all times
- Use safety PPE provided, ensure Safety Signage is always used when cleaning.
- Follow procedures and risk assessments, highlight non-compliance immediately
- Report hazards, defects, and faults promptly. Report immediately to the most senior member of staff present on the premises when a hazard, fault, or defect becomes apparent
- Carry out instructions on safety notices and hazard signs
- Follow COSHH (control of substances hazardous to health) regulations on the correct usage of all chemicals. Seek approval from Technical if new chemicals are to be used for new activities
- Adopt a ‘clean as you go’ policy, in which you clean the work area and any equipment you have used when the task is completed
Food safety and quality responsibilities
- Follow all site hygiene rules
- Ensure procedures are followed, appropriate documentation completed and non-conformances highlighted if they occur
- Support food safety standards to ensure compliance with company
Headline Skills and Experience
- Previous experience undertaking cleaning work within a production environment
- Knowledge of standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment of the cleaning service
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety rules
- Knowledge of the correct use of chemicals
- Ability to follow instruction
