ur client is a long established company. Innovative and dynamic, they are constantly pursuing new ways to improve the service they offer. An opportunity has arisen for an Business Development Analyst to join their team on a temporary basis to cover a 6/12 month period.
As a Business Development Analyst your duties will include:
• To assist with the provision of an information service to managers and staff throughout the organisation, including the provision of business information for the Service
• To provide in depth analysis, comparison and interpretation of highly complex data sets from a number of information sources
• To work with the Business Analyst in developing mechanisms to enable managers to interrogate and retrieve information from management information systems
• To provide appropriate and timely analysed data to relevant stakeholders from a range of sources, including public-facing reports
• To develop and maintain effective business information report centers for self-service use at the appropriate levels within the organisation
• To gather, analyse, evaluate and present different types of information from various sources in a variety of formats
• To assist in data quality checks for accuracy of data within the management information systems
• To assist in the provision of information as a result of Freedom of Information requests
• To ensure all data and business information management systems offer a high degree of security to ensure business continuity
• To provide district risk information data and to conduct trend analysis against the identified risk areas
• To provide data in a timely manner for external agencies to satisfy statutory statistical returns
• To respond to requests for business data and analysis as appropriate.
• To design and implement complex data set queries using SQL Server to extract management information
• Gather requirements for reports from a variety of users; design and implement complex reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
• To assist with the design, development and management of the Service’s data warehouse
• To assist with the development of the IRMP through the provision of data and analysis
• To contribute to the development and management of appropriate risk modelling, data analysis, customer insight tools and/or datasets
• To participate in projects as required to develop the provision of business data
• Attend meetings as required to present and demonstrate reports
To be considered for the role of Business Development Analyst you must have:
• Ability to understand the business data requirements and to extract information from a range of systems
• Understanding of the data sets in use within the service and an ability to analyse and produce reports that are meaningful to a variety of audiences
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to extract, manipulate, analyse and disseminate significant amounts of data with attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong T-SQL skills - creating queries, views, stored procedures in SQL Server databases
• Creating management information reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
• Knowledge of Microsoft BI Stack using Visual Studio (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS)
• Knowledge of data warehouse concepts, such as OLAP cubes
• Qualified and proven experience of Microsoft Office and other computerised systems
• Advanced Excel skills
• Awareness of the issues of data protection, security, confidentiality and integrity to ensure that appropriate data security and data sharing protocols are maintained to achieve compliance with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written
• Previous experience in a data, statistical, performance or other analytical role
• Previous experience in presenting business information to a range of audiences
