Holmesterne specialises in food production and has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Despatch Supervisor to join our dynamic team. This permanent position is well suited to an individual that is looking to advance their career in food production and gain hands-on experience in a thriving and supportive workplace.
Objectives
To provide a formal link between the Production
Management Team and the Production Operatives within the packing and despatch
sectors of the Site 1 manufacturing facility, carrying out direct supervision
of staff and customer order packing, identification, assembly and despatch on a
daily basis.
Responsibilities
- To supervise packing
and palleting labour throughout the working day in order to ensure best
and most efficient use of resources, in accordance with order volumes and
product availability, involving, where appropriate, liaison with other
department Managers/Supervisors
- To carry out or
supervise the generation, retention and verification of product
identification labels in line with Company procedure, customer
specifications and Food Safety requirements
- To carry out or
supervise the verification of the finished product metal detection process
in line with Company procedure, customer specifications and Food Safety
requirements
- To carry out or
supervise the monitoring and recording of finished product weight checks
in line with Company procedure and customer requirements
- To ensure that all
staff under your supervision operate in accordance with Company procedures,
relevant Food Safety and Health and Safety guidelines
- To carry out or
supervise the despatch and vehicle loading of finished goods, including the
completion of chilled product despatch records
- To maintain daily
stock records of surplus finished product and packing waste
- To participate in,
in conjunction with Managers, the identification of production staff
training requirements and where appropriate, the delivery of such training
- To carry out any other duties as
specified by Company Directors, Managers and Assistant Managers
Requirements
- Food Production experience.
- Experience of BRC Audits
- 3 years people management experience in a similar company
- Knowledge of the meat is advantageous but not essential
- Excellent project management skills and attention detail
- Good communication skills
