Quality Control Supervisor
Afternoon Shifts – between the hours of 12pm – 10pm
ALDI Sawley
£11.58 per hour until 6pm, £13.66 per hour after 6pm
Aldi is one of the fastest growing supermarkets in the World and now has over 840 stores in the UK, with a view to increasing this to 1000 stores by 2022. At the core of these stores is a busy, streamlined Distribution Centre ensuring the right goods hit the right stores in the most efficient way.
Aldi’s newest Regional Distribution Centre is a 100-acre site in Sawley due to open in 2020, creating hundreds of new jobs within the local area.
We are currently recruiting 4 x Quality Control Supervisors to be part of this brand new site from the get go.
Reporting straight into the Quality Control Leader, the Quality Control Supervisors will be responsible for supervising the Quality Control team, ensuring all fresh and short-life products are in perfect condition before leaving the warehouse and reaching customers at the stores.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the Quality Control team, ensuring your team are happy and motivated
- Identifying any training needs within the team and regularly passing feedback onto the Quality Control Leader
- Checking all stock once it is delivered to the warehouse, this consists of fruit, vegetables, bread, flowers and meat
- Ensuring all stock meets Aldi specifications – size, weight, colour, best before date, country of origin etc.
- In depth checking of fresh produce including sugar checks and pressure checks
- Taste testing of produce
- Working across the warehouse which will include the chilled section
- Rejecting stock if it does not meet the required standards, passing feedback onto the Quality Control Leader
To be considered for the role of Quality Control Supervisor, you must have:
- Experience within a supervisory or management role
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Knowledge of food safety and food hygiene would be an advantage
- Proven experience of working within a team
Hours for this role are afternoon into evening shifts (typically between the hours of 12pm – 10pm). Shifts can vary in length from 6 – 10 hours.
You can expect to work 5 out of 7 days and this will include some weekends.
If successful you will be required to undertake 2- 3 months training prior to the site opening, this will take place at the Atherstone or Goldthorpe Distribution Centre. Transport and/or travel expenses will be covered by Aldi.
