Store Operations Assistant

£27,830 per annum
Monday – Friday, working hours: 08:00 – 16:30
Aldi is one of the fastest growing supermarkets in the World and now has over 8st0 stores in the UK, with a view to increasing this to 1000 stores by 2022. At the core of these stores is a busy, streamlined Distribution Centre ensuring the right goods hit the right stores in the most efficient way.
Aldi’s newest Regional Distribution Centre is a 100-acre site in Sawley due to open in 2020, creating hundreds of new jobs within the local area.
We are currently recruiting a Store Operations Assistant, to be part of this brand new site from the get-go. Reporting straight into the Store Operations Director, you will be involved in all the behind the scenes administration to ensure their busy stores run smoothly and efficiently.
Your duties will include:
- Providing PA support to the Store Operations Director, including diary management and arranging travel and accommodation
- Liaising regularly with Store Area Managers on behalf of the Director
- Involved in the recruitment process for stores – arranging interviews, work trials, contract signings and start dates
- Arranging training courses for store staff
- Ordering new store equipment and uniforms
- Dealing with HR/Payroll issues from Stores including writing disciplinary letters and liaising with solicitors
- Monitoring of store KPI’s as well as ensuring stores are complying with required health & safety and legal requirements
To be considered for the role of Store Operations Assistant you must have:
- Experience in a similar role providing admin support in a fast paced environment
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Strong Excel skills
- A background in HR/recruitment would be an advantage
Additionally, you must possess high levels of accuracy and attention to detail whilst being able to work to tight deadlines.
Due to the required training and location of the Regional Distribution Centre your own transport is essential.
If successful you will be required to undertake up to 9 months training prior to the site opening. This will take place at the Goldthorpe Distribution Centre where you will be based Monday – Friday. Accommodation will be provided.
