Payroll Assistant | 12 Month Fixed Term Contract | £27,420.00 per annum

Building on the success of these awards, a planned 80 new store openings across the UK in 2016 and a £60m investment into the opening of a brand new, state of the art distribution centre in Cardiff in March 2017. Aldi is really on the rise.
Aldi is currently looking to recruit a Payroll Assistant based at their Regional Distribution Centre in Darlington. The ideal candidate must have prior knowledge and experience of Resource Link.
Duties and responsibilities will include;
•Liaises with internal and external auditors and external bodies when required.
•Maintains all payroll data on the payroll system (starters, leavers, changes of personal and salary data).
•Inputs salary adjustments, hours, holiday and sickness to be paid and checks bonus payments.
•Maintains payroll files with the data required and the list of missing data.
•Maintains AIS data with regard to employees and produces the relevant reports.
•Provides payroll information to Accounts on a monthly and annual basis, raises tax and NI payments.
•Checks payroll costs and balances with the relevant internal accounts.
•Calculates SSP, SMP and Southern Regional Allowance according to the guidelines.
•Keeps the timesheet from Administration updated.
•Checks timesheets from stores and Logistics and enters the information on the payroll system.
•Ensures that all employees in the area of responsibility are paid timely and accurately according to the information on the timesheet.
•Transmits and receives data to/ from the BACS service and checks the information.
•Maintains employment contracts and distributes them when required.
•Produces and distributes statistics and reports.
•Calculates manual payslips and ensures payment is made.
•Requests cheques to be raised and ensures BACS payments are cancelled if required.
•Raises contract termination letters to employees and issues P45s.
•Administers and reconciles pension and stakeholder pension schemes, liaising with the
•Company’s Pension Advisor when necessary.
•Maintains and distributes starter and training information.
•Deals with any issues regarding employee references in the area of responsibility.
•Keeps a record of holidays taken.
•Processes tax year end documentation, maintains employee P11D information and produces the relevant documentation for the Inland Revenue.
•Distributes P60 forms to employees.
•Types and sends applicants’ rejection letters as required.
•Ensures the security of any documentation and electronic data in the area of responsibility.
•Maintains appropriate backups and logs for data in the area of responsibility.
•Checks invoices for services and equipment in the area of responsibility following Company procedures.
•Maintains an efficient and well organised filing system for the department.
•Ensures that all documentation in the area of responsibility is archived orderly for the correct period and arranges its disposal at the end of the archive period.
•Trains other Administration Assistants where appropriate.
•Ensures that the workstation and surrounding area is well organised.
•Ensures that all communal areas are kept in appropriate condition.
