Our Client is a leading food manufacturer based outside Thirsk, North Yorkshire.
As their business accelerates its position in the market, they are now looking to strengthen the business by recruiting a QA Manager. They are looking for a driven and motivated individual who really wants to make a difference to our family business.
About the Role
As a QA Manager, your main responsibility will be the management and maintenance of the Quality Management and Food Safety HACCP systems to ensure due diligence and legal compliance at all times.
Your other areas of responsibility will involve the following:
Dealing and resolving daily non-compliance issues.
Contributing to management and maintenance of retail technical web-based systems and representing the company as Quality Assurance contact for retailers.
Ensure effective systems for identifying and resolving/root cause analysis of non-conformances resulting from audits, quality failures etc.
Generating technical KPI report for the business and retailers to the required schedule.
Assisting in Customer complaints investigations.
Supplier assurance approval; including TACCP, Management of the Supplier Quality Assurance System – supplier approval, assessments, Certification maintenance, specifications, Certificates of Conformance
Ensuring non-conforming raw materials and products are controlled and actions raised with suppliers and internal departments as appropriate
Gap analysis on BRC and retailer COP, communicating changes to the business
Training of key Work Instructions relating to Food safety, quality and legality
Establishing and maintaining audit schedules based on risk assessment and conducting internal and external audits as required
Deputising for the Technical Manager as required.

You must have experience and understanding of retailer COP/systems and BRC standard.
Base salary £30,000 - £40,000 Depending on Experience
Up to 10% discretionary annual bonus
